Still Waiting

i woke up in a hotel bedroom and no one was in the room. he must have gone out for breakfast. i look out of the window and the weather was grey. it is almost always grey, though it doesnt rain. i washed up and get dressed, walking out of the room to greet him outside in the hall. but i did not see the familiar backview or that pair of eyes around. so i went out into the grassland, and saw him standing at the edge of the cliff, staring down at the grand canyon. i suddenly felt relieved and happy. the wind was blowing hard on my face, and i had to hug my shawl to prevent it from flying away. suddenly i missed him so much, and i cant wait to run up to him and lie in his arms.. the warmth and happiness he could give me is everything i wanted in the world. i ran across the great stretch of grassland and as the grasses cut my feet, i couldnt feel any pain. his back facing was me, just in front.. but yet i felt as if i had run for ages before my hand could reach out to hug him from the back. perhaps i was too excited, and a little tinge of worry that i couldnt figure out what it was.

finally i felt my hands around his waist and his hands holding mine. then he smiled at me and told me how beautiful this place was. he told me how much he wished to be with me forever, and he took me in his arms. we both faced the other side of the grand canyon, with him behind me. we fell silent and admired the scenery around us. i could feel the cold wind beating against my cheeks and my silk dress fluttering in the wind. i leaned back on his chest and he kissed me.
